Youth and Urbanism is a youth-centered organization dedicated to fostering urban community development. It provides marginalized groups with opportunities to participate in integrated activities that promote sustainable urban development, emphasizing the rural-urban nexus for sustainable growth. The organization has been active for 3 years, focusing on urban informal settlements to address generational problems.
The vision is to create cities that are planned, built, and governed to support youth development and be safe for children and young people.

The pillars include Youth Development and Urban Environment, Climate Change and Humanitarian Response, Gender Equality and Inclusion, and Child Rights and Protection.
Key programs include Voices for Just Climate Action, Mathare River Restoration Project, Youth-led Humanitarian Response, The Urban Online Media, Climate and Care, Youth and Urbanism Research and Innovation Hub, Youth and Urbanism Think Tank, Youth and Urbanism Entrepreneurship Challenge, Youth and Urbanism Satellite Farms, Sustainable Urban Transport, The Urban Home School, and the Y&U Volunteer and Internship Program.
The organization employs advocacy to engage policymakers, civic education to promote participatory governance, humanitarian action to support vulnerable populations, innovation for creative urban planning solutions, and partnerships with governments and organizations for inclusive development.
The team includes Founder/CEO Edwin Odhiambo, June Alfreds (Head of Programs and Media/COO), Anthony Kwemoi (Head of Production), Ruth Sure (Head of Grants and Finance/CFO), and Chelsea Johanes (Executive Secretary).
