Are you a local group passionate about making cities safer and greener for kids and youth? Youth and Urbanism organization invites you to partner with us! We're a youth-led team in Nairobi, Kenya, working in tough urban spots like Mathare to create real change. Together, we can empower young people, fight climate issues, and build inclusive communities. Let's turn ideas into action – your skills + our network = big impact!

Who We Are: Youth Leading the Way

We're Youth and Urbanism, a non-profit run by young people for young people. Started in Nairobi, we dream of cities designed to help youth grow and keep kids safe. We focus on sustainable urban development while emphasizing the rural-urban nexus and the vital interconnection between these areas, solving big problems with smart, community ideas.

Our main goals (we call them pillars):

• Youth Development and Urban Environment Help young people learn skills for city planning and leadership.
• Climate Change and Humanitarian Response: Fix rivers, plant trees, and respond to floods or disasters.
• Gender Equality and Includivity: Make sure girls, women, and everyone feels included and protected.
• Child Rights and Protection Fight for children's safety, education, and a bright future.

In just three years, we've run over 10 programs and with projects like like:

• Voices for Just Climate Action: Giving slum youth a voice on climate fixes.
• Mathare River Restoration: Restoring dirty rivers to healthy ecosystems.
• Youth-led Humanitarian Response Empowering youth in urban informal settlements to lead humanitarian actions for community resilience
• Climate and Care initiative: Highlighting climate and caregiving intersections to build resilience for young girls and women

We've teamed up with 7+ groups and earned trust from 10+ global partners, helping thousands through talks, education, aid, new ideas, and teamwork.

Now, with our 2026-2030 plan, we're ready to shape policies, share best tips, and get all youth involved in city life.

Our Partnership Goals: What We'll Achieve Together

We want to grow a strong network to make bigger waves in urban slums. Here's how:

• Power Up Youth: Create programs teaching urban planning, rural developement, leading, and starting businesses.
• Beat Climate Challenges: Team on green solutions, river fixes, and crisis help – matching UN goals for climate (SDG 13) and cities (SDG 11).
• Boost Fairness: Design projects that break gender walls, protect kids, and lift voices of women, girls, and migrants.
• Spark New Ideas and Voices: Research, educate, and influence rules for safe, walkable cities.
• Grow Impact: Share tools for farms in cities, better transport, and online learning for slum kids.

What Partnership Looks Like: Fun Ways to Work Together

We'll tailor to your strengths! Options include:

• Do Projects Side-by-Side: Like planting 500 trees with NCBA Bank or mentoring in schools.
• Share Goodies: Get into our Innovation Hub, Think Tank, or volunteer teams.
• Grab Grants Together: Through joint proposals
• Network and Shout Out: Join big days like World Cities Day and talk to governments.
• Track Success: Use shared tools to measure wins, like people helped or greener spaces.

We'll sign an MOU for 1-2 years, renewable if great. We promise fair play, tech help, and your ideas leading the way.

How to Apply: Easy Steps to Join

Send us an Expression of Interest (EOI). The form contain

• Your Profile: 1-2 pages on registration, mission, wins, and team.
• How You Fit: 1 page linking your work to our pillars, with project stories.
• Idea Ideas: 1-2 pages on joint plans, results, and what you need.
• Refs: Contacts for 2-3 past partners or people you've helped.
• Budget Peek: Quick look at your yearly money and sources.
